UPDATE 1 – SIGNIFICANT WATER DAMAGE AT COMMISSIONERS ROAD EAST APARTMENT BUILDING

Requesting the public’s assistance

LONDON, ON (July 23, 2019) The London Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying three individuals suspected of causing extensive water damage to the apartment building situated at 940 Commissioners Road East on July 10, 2019.  

The incident is now estimated to have caused between $3 and $5 million worth of damage to the building and contents.

The suspects are described as:

Suspect #1 - male, Caucasian, in his thirties, approximately 5’10” tall, with a slim build. This individual may also have stained and crooked teeth. At the time of the incident, he had thin, dark facial hair.

Suspect #2 – male, Caucasian, with a tan complexion, in his mid-twenties to early thirties, approximately 5’6” to 5’8” tall, with a slim build.

Suspect #3 – male, Caucasian, in his early to mid-forties, with a thin build and “salt and pepper” facial hair. This suspect has a faded tattoo on left forearm and possibly a faded tattoo on the webbing of his left hand, between thumb and index finger.

The incident remains under investigation by members of the General Investigations Section.

SIGNIFICANT WATER DAMAGE AT COMMISSIONERS ROAD EAST APARTMENT BUILDING Police continue to investigate

LONDON, ON (July 10, 2019) – Emergency crews responded to an apartment building located at 940 Commissioners Road East at approximately 7:20 a.m this morning in relation to water damage at that location. Upon arrival, the incident was deemed to be suspicious in nature, and police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the water damage.

Residents of the building’s first three floors were evacuated and transported by London Transit Commission (LTC) to the Carling Heights Community Centre. Residents of the most heavily-damaged units are likely to be displaced for an undetermined period of time and others may be able to return later today.

The London Police Service would like to take this opportunity to thank the many members of the community who assisted in today’s evacuation and subsequent relocation of residents.

The investigation has been reassigned to members of the LPS Street Crime Unit.
